Take These Two Steps to Start

Keeping tabs on your CalSTRS benefit information is simple and convenient. Along with the member contact center, CalSTRS offers online tools and services designed to assist you.

Check Your Retirement Progress Report

Your Retirement Progress Report is available online on myCalSTRS in mid-October and mailed to you in December. Go to myCalSTRS to opt to receive an electronic copy only.

The report summarizes:

  • The service credit you earned for the previous year.
  • Your total accumulated service credit.
  • The names of your one-time death benefit recipients.
  • Accumulated contributions and interest in your Defined Benefit and Defined Benefit Supplement accounts.
  • Once you turn 45, you will also receive two estimates of your future retirement benefit.

If you believe there’s a discrepancy in your report, do not wait to correct errors. Contact your employer immediately.

myCalSTRS

myCalSTRS is your online resource to access and manage your personal information on file with CalSTRS.

Log in now to:

  • Access your Retirement Progress Report.
  • Manage your beneficiary recipient designations.
  • Change your state and federal tax withholding preferences.
  • Complete and submit CalSTRS forms electronically.
  • Track status of CalSTRS forms submitted on myCalSTRS.
  • View your account balance(s).
  • Elect a preretirement election of an option.
  • Apply for Service Retirement
  • Sign up for Direct Deposit.
  • View and print your 1099-R forms and benefit payment stubs.
  • Ask questions about your account(s) and receive prompt, secure answers.
  • Request e-delivery of newsletters, notifications and statements.

myCalSTRS is exclusively for CalSTRS Defined Benefit Program members, retirees, beneficiaries and Cash Balance Benefit Program participants.
